    Hi,

Anybody been up the Birdsville or Strzelecki tracks lately ?

I'm going to take my XT600 up there in the next week or so.

What are the conditions of the roads ?

Oh, and any last minute advice for me. Standard 13L tank (+ a jerry), no
    GPS.

    cheers.

    <http://users.bigpond.com/rto/ozhome.htm> and ask on the

that's what i need... no worries.

    gonna carry 2 jerry's 1x10L + 1x5L plus 10L jerry of water.

    that's 30 Litres of petrol all up ( ~18km/L x 30 = 540km).

Acerbis tank gives me 470-495km (to dry) on-road, running hard in hot
conditions, with full camping gear on the back.
And I ain't no flyweight either...
    Check tank and rack here:

Both are fairly good tracks these days.

    try http://www.mynrma.com.au/travel/go/outback_tracks/index.shtml

If you stay with the main road you won't need gps ... just a good map
    and your trip meter.
    Good maps -
http://www.hemamaps.com.au/ - Great Desert Tracks Of Australia SE Sheet
    and
    http://www.westprint.com.au/maps1.htm - Birdsville & Strzelecki Tracks

Get both ... the west print ones usually have good interesting info on
the back of the map about places your going through.

Speaking of the Strzelecki Track, who's attending next year's
    Off-Centre Rally at Innamincka?

I'll be going, probably on a GPX250 again.
