Well you wouldn't want it going flat.

FFS it's an article written by a journalist. Normal people who don't
have a Doctors note saying they are sane ignore all that pish and just
get on with enjoying life. If you feel okay with a bottle or two of wine
a night then what's the problem. If it's too much eventually your body
will give you a warning or you'll die. Since you're going to die anyway
you may as well get as much enjoyment out of what life you have
    available now.

As I understood it, "binge drinking" used to mean something that was done
occasionally, but with a little enthusiasm when it was done. Nowadays it
seems that anything related to having more than a single drink is called
    binge drinking.

Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Quite so. I was, in fact, simply pointing this out.
    Problem? What problem?
    Heh.

    heh.

stopped drinking spirits / stopped eating pub food every other
lunchtime. Weight just dropped away, without any particular effort.

Yeah, but what's the point of that. You have to drink enough alcohol
to feel an effect, otherwise, to coin a phrase, what's the point ?

Well, me and SWMBO do a bottle a night between us, pretty much every
    evening.

If you're doing that on your own, that's a different thing entirely ;)

Of course it is. I go on a binge practically every night then.

What's left, though, to describe the nights when you drink four or
five beers, four or five glasses of wine, a couple of Armagnacs, four
or five more glasses of wine, a couple of shots, etc. etc.?

Oh, I remember, it's called 'having ukrmers round to stay the night'
    ;-)

Well that's one take on it, with which I'd tend to concur.

Probably. Of course, the same 'research' was similarly quoted in the
other papers too. Sadly the full paper "Bobak, M. Presentation to the
    ESC Congress 2009, held Aug. 29 to Sept. 2, 2009; abstract 3535."
doesn't yet appear to be available online, but it's main conclusion
seems to be that stated, i.e. it's comparing people who drink once a
week with those who drink the same amnount over a week.

So totally irrelevant if you drink a lot more than that, it woud seem.

You put up a pretty good showing, as I recall, although you didn't
really have the choice seeing as you were sleeping in the drinking
    room.

Another time if we decide to play guitar can we do it while you still
    can?
Heh. And even froggy bacon seems to work. Me and Adie had a très
relaxing day, watching motogp and F1 all day, but it took me until
around three before I really started to feel properly human again.

It's only/mainly you that maintained that image anyway, IMO.
Yeah, but were you over the hangover too?
