  1. Iffy starting (no nice comforting 7/8th's of the system is working fine
thank you solenoid clunking noises) that is cured by pulling in the
clutch and letting it go quick, switch innit? Where is the fucking
thing? It's not on the lever and I can't see where the cable disappears
    at all.

And yet normally, you are so lucid. btw, I've just returned from a
'Minehead and back' followed by much beer and still you make no sense.

Ditch it and buy a proper bike.

Ditch it? I have only just bought the fucking thing. Besides I rather
fancy myself as the last owner and am prepared to do whatever it takes
to run it finally and irrevocably into the ground. A hard job I know
but someone has to do it and in these times of national crisis I feel it
is only right and proper we all do our bit where we can.

Crisis? what crisis. Anyway, what can you do to a Bandit that wasn't
designed in as a fault by Suzuki.

Wouldn't it be more fun to braze them together with the Ronson blowtorch
thingy what I have bought and never used except for lighting barbecues
    with?

    and burning ants.

    Gaffa tape, please.

I try but I know that it was done with the best intentions and somehow I
keep finding it in my heart to forgive him. Mind you I haven't tried to
take the plugs out yet so a change of heart could easily be on the
cards. Especially if they stole trade secrets from Honda.

They do have character, I will say that. At 12k rpm or so, mine had an
exhaust note that sent shivers up your back, but after 10k miles the
suspension was totally shagged, the faux chrome was peeling and the
gear box had more neutrals than a Swiss pacifist convention - and the
headlight - oh ****, the headlight.

I'd noticed that. I keep sticking my hand over the front to see if it
    is working.

I still have nightmares; I remember creaming past a queue of traffic,
late at night, not realising how much I was relying on the headlights
of the cars I was passing until I got to the front - I tried parking,
dipped and full beam but couldn't find an apex anywhere - in the end I
stopped at a laybye and waited until I could join the end of the queue
again. The GSXR is no better - at night, I follow my missus on her VFR
    - maybe it's a Suzuki thing.

The little switch mechanism engages on the underside of the clutch
lever. It is quite possible to remove it and just make the connection
    permanent.

My switch is on the lever, there are two connectors that go onto the
switch. I just pulled these off and stuck them of a small blade fuse and
cable wrapped the wires against the bar. No more pulling the clutch in
    when starting.
