South Oxfordshire use bin bags. They don't provide them though.

I know. Like a lot of things you find out afterwards are not, the idea
of being a motorcycle courier was a romantic idea at the time and had,
in my mind anyway, a certain amount[1] of kudos.

[1] A certain amount being not very much at all.

Solihull Council are cheeky and won't collect the commercial size
steel wheelie bins from flats so we have to pay for private refuse
    collection.

Still have to pay for binmen in my council tax though.

Why don't you all just get a wheelie bin each, and keep it where the
    steel one is now?

We have to supply our own bin bags here.

We also have a box that is for the recycling of paper and card one per
fortnight, which given the piles of shite rags that drop through the dorr
    is scarecly enough.

The *really* funny bit was just before christmas though. A new recycling
bag arrived. Heavy duty, polypropylene job. Printed with details of what
was to be put in it, inclduding glass,s tins, beverage cans, plastivc
bottle, milk bottles and so on. The thing is the size of a fucking carrier
bag FFS. We can fill it in about 2 days, nevermind what the folks next
door can manage (5 of them) and they still only collect fortnightly.

The steel one ain't much bigger than that wheelie bin you have, it's
just got an open top and built to fit the lifters on commercial refuse
    trucks.

Plus they won't come up our private road. Believe me, we've argued
    with them enough about it.

Time to think? Forget the bin men, order your own:
    url:http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...1/103-4262695-5592624?v=glance&s=hpc&n=507846

Sadly, only available in USA and Canada ATM, but coming to these
shores RSN. Oh, and you don't need training to use one. Designed to be
used by the average 9 year old, in tests the 9 year olds consistently
    outperformed the adults ...

Not strange - Reading's the same. It's the danger of broken glass to
the sorters. Glass goes into bottle banks where machines handle it,
    not people.

Our recyclers take glass and sort it by hand.

Isn't it hounds par se that come under the new law now? Hence I could
take my JR out ratting, but not my mini wire daxie, cos that would be
    illegal.
