Just catching up, and I'm muchly puzzled. When I first saw the news
yesterday morning in the Telegraph, there it was, right on the front,
a picture of a dead bin Laden with blood all over his face and what
could have been bullet hole(s). Are they claiming that it wasn't real?

    real?

Is that the photoshop job that's been doing the rounds for the last
two years in just about every major news outlet? The Guardian had an
    article on it yesterday.

    Pavement - sidewalk
    Trousers - pants
Buried at sea - chained up in a small cell with bollocks wired to the
    mains

    Linguistic differences.

So we should expect this info via Wikileaks in due course.

I expect the Pak and Saud govmints will have had appropriate media. Gorefest
pics for the Press are unecessary.

That cheered me up considerably, thanks )
I rather like the thought of the **** eeeeking out a few final days in
    Guantanamo.
Unfortunately... no chance. You can't keep anything really really secret.

    No, we aren't.
Say you've got appendicitis. The doc cuts you open and sews you back
together. He says he took it out. Do you ask for proof? Do you care if
he _really_ took it out, or just that the pain is gone? Isn't the lack
    of pain evidence enough?

Al Jazeera certainly thinks he's dead. I saw one report that an Al
Qaeda spokesman said it will continue on without Bin Laden. It's
significant that they haven't denied Bin Laden's death. Unless you
think they're in on the conspiracy.

As long as he was in Guantanamo every potential martyr would have been
trying to grab a few hostages to exchange for him so for that reason
alone he's better off capped and lobbed in the ocean.

I'm struggling to understand what the fuss is all about because there's
no way he'd have let himself be taken alive and I really can't see that
the 'threat risk' is any higher than before just because he's dead.

Get over it and carry on with life in exactly the same way as before.

Only one or two of you here are capable of understanding that, but an
    interesting read nonetheless.
