Yeah I know a lot of retired folks who own a lavish home in the
country but prefer to live in a $3500.00 trailer in a trailer park.
    Happens all the time.

Change it to 22mph/sec and take away air resistance and other sources
of friction, and it's not such a big surprise (as long as 66mph is a
fair approximate of 70mph). Is this a test?

No need to even wonder. Everyone backed off of both of them when they
posted about the passing of their father. NOTHING was posted to or about
them (other than condolences) for weeks. When the Walkers don't attack
anyone they aren't attacked in return.

You weren't invited and you're not welcome, Briboy. But, if you can't detach
yourself from the umbilical cord that obviously still connects you in some sick,
disgusting fashion to your Sheriff Daddy, there's not much I can do about it.

So, just calm down and wait, you little whelp.

Dumbass, ask Sheriff Daddy. I already gave him my trip itenerary. God, you're
stupid as a fucking stump, and panting like a mewling runt.
Oh, Briboy.... I told Sheriff Daddy which day, puke boy.
Learn to listen and remember, lil' pup.
Yeah, I "eluded" to it, you moron.

You stupid shit. I'm not a biker. Never once claimed to be, and don't want to
    be a biker.

Oh yeah and then figure for how much over $50.00 the offense was for.
So if it was $500.00 + the $50.00 how much would it be in today's dollars?

Don't you read? I lost it on the freeway. It was stupid, and it cost
me, but being a 'highly paid professional', I got a new one.

In case you were also wondering, my Race tires came yesterday, for this
event. http://2-fast.org/seattle-100.html Click the link, it is
    certified virus free!

    In pledging, riding or both?
The seattle 100 is in its' 3rd season. Several of my friends ride in
it. Last year Al and I went down to visit Bannon who was taking part,
along with some other "read and genuine" riders like Jason Pridmore and
Josh Hayes. Here are some pics: http://groups.msn.com/mctrippics/nart.msnw

Anyway, this will be my first year doing the Seattle 100 as a rider.
http://2-fast.org/seattle-100.html I am looking for donations, as the
minimum is $500.00, and I don't want to pay it all myself! Last years
prize to the top contributor (around 10K) was a trip to STAR school with
Jason as his 1 and only instructor.

I got Pirelli SuperCorsa SC2's for the event. I have one track day May
18th, which I'll run on BT 012SS's they have perhaps 1 day left in them.
Then I make the switch to the Rennsport/Supercorsas.

All monies collected go to the Nephcure foundation:

  16. Actually, your math is screwed up as well. $50 divided by 479.64 is
about 10 cents, not .10 cents.

What is it about people getting their asses kicked by decimal points
    today?

Stupidity about responding to this thread apparently...
I made an error...oh well. Now I guess I'll go read some more about it.

That's today. What in 1967 or whatever it said.
Larceny= > $50.00 which means $50 on up. Up to what though?

    Andrew, Apr 25, 2005

  19. Well, your math isn't any better (see my other post in this thread),
but I agree with your point - people are posting things here that
don't even pass the most basic "sniff test" for common sense. Whether
it's claiming that $50 in 1967 is equivalent to over $20,000 today, or
claiming that Washington D.C. has a higher rate of firearms fatalities
than Iraq, I really wonder if they stop to think "Does this even make
    sense?" before they hit "send".

I saw the same thing back in college. As an example, we were once
asked to calculate the mass of a cement column, given the column's
dimensions and the density of cement. Some guys would accidentally
divide when they should have multiplied, or they would make a simple
sign error somewhere in the problem. The end result was that people
were turning in answers like "six grams", or "sixty grams", when the
correct answer was 600 kilograms. It didn't even dawn on them that
six grams is about what a large paper clip weighs, not a cement
column. But what the hell - my calculator says six grams - must be
    right!!

  20. It's not really so much that you made a math error, it's that you
didn't even "stink check" the answer before you posted it. Think
about it for just a second - $23,000 will buy a new car today, but
would $50 have bought a new car in 1967? $230,000 will buy a
modestly-sized home in most housing markets today - would $500 have
bought any kind of home in 1967?

Math errors happen to the best of us, but when talking about money,
and you're off by a factor of a hundred and don't even notice it,
that's a "common sense" error as welll.
