Quoted by someone else "Mark Johnson and John Moran (Another Viewer) have participated in almost every newsgroup in Usenet that has to do with guns and motorcycles..Texdays.. also.. These guys have pretty well been run off from each group.." Where the heck did this spring forth from? I used to participate in talk.politics.guns and tx.guns. I left those when the off topic posts got so bad that little content remained. I used to participate in rec.motorcycles and tx.motorcycles and left them for the same reason about 2 years ago. A few months back I had some free time, so dropped back in on the 2 motorcycle groups. Rec.motorcycles (Reeky) was pretty much as it had been but tx.moto seemed to have improved some with only a little political commentary. So I hung around both and responded to the politics when I had the time and had either a different opinion of comment to make. Nothing more. Nothing less. However only 1 person in all my years on Usenet has ever taken the Usenet S.O.P. of discussing differences as personal attacks and lashed out enough that it was clearly more than humorous banter. It just so happens that many other people were also subjected to these same reactions when they had a difference of opinion. As I said before, good managers at work look at interpersonal difficulties to find the common thread. The source of the problem is typically the 1 and not the 20. I have NEVER been "run off" of any newsgroup. Ever. 2 newsgroups about either guns OR motorcycles is as far from "almost every newsgroup on Usenet" (of either) as the above statement is from the truth.
