platypus says... Aston Martin made 'shooting brakes' a long time before the Scimitar came along. IIRC Volvo made the P180ES as well in the early 60s.
It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the Aye, to special order, iirc. If we're going down the custom body road, I've no doubt Panhard-LeBollocks made them for rich clientele in the 1890s. Yeah, I can't recall whether the P1800 pre-dated the SE5 or not; I think it did by a couple of years. <sticks two fingers up at Volvo> There's a damn sight more SE5s still around than P1800s. -- Dave GS 850 x2 / SE 6a SbS#6 DIAABTCOD#16 APOSTLE#6 FUB#3 FUB KotL OSOS#12? platypus says... No, he had a white 'coupe' P1800, the E and ES were the estateish version. The S stood for Sweden, to distinguish between the bodies made in the UK and those over there. UK made bodies rotted like mad, usually within the first two years. So Volvo took all the tooling and made them over there instead, to a slightly better standard.
Grimly Curmudgeon says... 1960 for the Volvo. 1968 for the Scimitar SE5 Fibreglass doesn't rot like badly prepared steel.

You're not being stupid, just limited in your thinking - or perhaps just in your comprehension - I forget, is English actually your first language? If not, I apologise in advance. You see, "with" doesn't necessarily imply ownership. It's a perfectly valid contraction of the phrase "with access to" for example.

darsy says... Not proofreading? I made a typo and you didn't pick me upon it. Either you cba, or you missed it. I'm putting a tenner on the former.
