So would I, if it was made by a Japanese company. I swear I'll never own
a BMW unless it is given to me FOC.

Great. Good to know. Not like the uk then? I've lost count the times
I've been told 'sorry no bikers.' Hard to resist kicking up a stink in
reception, I wouldn't like to add to the already tarnished image biking
    sadly has...

I'm currently in the planning stages of a Santander - Le Havre trip for
late this summer, having done the Algarve on a hired bike last autumn
and a mid-week break in Le Mans the summer before.

Always looked at the organised trips, but the cost and the fact that
you're tied into doing what's been organised puts me off them.

Chris emerged from their own little world to say
Really? I've been riding bikes for over 12 years. I've never had a
problem with a B&B or hotel in the UK. I find that most places are
enlightened to the fact that someone riding 10 grands worth of bike,
with a grands worth of clothes on their back, is likely to be a good
    source of income.

E.g. after I stayed with some friends at a place in Fort William the
owner added a page to his website specifically targetting bikers.

Is this a bit like the old Commando comics where you have to know who
lost the third round of the FA cup in 1936?

That's about my experience (without the 10K bit). Fiona and I went on a
bike tour in the UK for our honeymoon. We didn't have any problems and I
was in the jeans and scruffy red lined jacket school of bike gear.
