Yeah the good guy in me wants to say the MGP with Robbie. The middle of
the road guy wants to say the TOG tour, good ride over. But the **** has
    to say the TT.......

The spring run to Baigts, on the Blackbird, on my own.

    Chimay.

Getting the Wing MOT'd after major surgery.

Getting the Blackbird MOT'd at six hours notice.

Doing some of the RBR on the Blackbird while the Wing was waiting for
    a 6" length of piping.

Getting the new alternator to fit on the CBX.

Bought my first Ducati and rode it all the way from South Wales and back
    to do a BOTAFOT.

I'll have to touch on the low:

Dropping it at the petrol station.

On the positive side, you didn't take the piss to severely.

  4. Oddly, buying the 660 Tenere has been the high point of the year. I
can't believe that I managed to buy a bike that is so much *fun*, and in
such blinding condition, for such a small amount of dosh.

Of course, the Elefant may kill it altogether.

Have you told F about your planned return to racing yet?

That thing sounds like a real hoot, but probably a tad too tall in the seat
    for a shortarse.

....getting back in the saddle after almost 30 years of thinking all
that was behind me, that was last winter when I bought an elderly
xs650 - then just when I thought it couldn't get any better my wife
spots a shiny new xjr1300 while I'm at the counter of my local bike
shop buying plugs - "that's pretty" says she, so I end up buying two
plugs and the bike.... now I know why I married her!

I've not done much this year outside the French run. I'm unable to
commute at the moment as I do the school run so it's just the
    occasional weekend.

Might chop in both bikes for something new in the spring if business
    remains good but who knows.

  12. It is. I've got a 32" inside leg and I can get the balls of my feet down
on either side, but no more. A friend with a 31" leg was on tippy-toes.

Hmmmm - at 29" I would have a problem. Pity, it sounds like the kind of
    thing I would enjoy.

For some strange reason you've got me picturing a scene from David
Lynchs Dune. Baron Vladimar Harkonnen survives an attempt on his life
and starts cackling and laughing loudly "I AM ALIVE".

Not that I think you look like the character.

I don't know how I'll feel about 2008 in years to come, but a specific
biking high was a memorable session going up & down Fish Hill when I
    was in a 'don't give a **** if I die' mood.

If almost dying was the only highlight of your year, the five months
prior to your off must have been really shit.

After two years of trundling around cautiously exploring my limits with no
ill effects whatsoever, over about three months this summer I managed to
drop my bike three times and crash it once. It may seem perverse, but I'm
quite pleased to have got that out of the way. Now I can concentrate on not
    doing it again.

Other than that, a week in Corsica, a week in Provence and generally using
the bike as my main means of transport through a beautiful summer in the
Alps - they were all nice.
