    There's none near Preston.
Lancs CC are devising an alternative, 8 hours (2 theory, 6
    practical) about £200.

I'm not entirely convinced, after chatting to the man, that it
    would be enough.

Having read the thread with high praise for DC in Bristol, I was
hoping for something similar round here.

Does anyone know more than me?
(Every comic needs a straight man.)

Merseyside Police, in conjunction with the Fire Service, are doing a
BikeSafe course, two days (Sat & Sun), a mixture of classroom and
on-road advice, for £50.00. Part of the course for 2006 is also
supposed to include First Aid for Bikers, but they've not secured that
    part as yet.

It's held at Bromborough Fire Station, details can be obtained via the
BikeSafe website, or you can contact Eric or Bob via email to make
    enquiries on

It's well worth enquiring, and at £50.00 it's a wee bit of a bargain.

Having said that, the DC w/e *is* money well spent, despite the fact
that he is so far away from us Northerners.

Oh yeah, here's the link to the organisation that DC is (or was, he now
appears to have his own website) involved with. There might be one
    near to you.
