Butting in after an incredibly long absence...

I rode for a while with a pc motorcyclist, and his take was that if you were
riding sensibly and looked the sensible part, they were likely to leave you
alone. It was people riding a bit stupidly they were likely to pick up on,
or people who were racing around on new sports bikes with new leathers
    taking bad lines etc.

I'm motivated by the fact that I'll learn something. Hopefully, something
    useful too.

  6. TD explained on 27/02/2008 :
As with TrafPol, BikePol generally leave you alone if you are
driving/riding and demonstrating good standards of attention plus
safety. It's the none TrafPol you need to watch out for, from the point
of view of your own safety as well as the risk of getting pulled. These
are also the ones which often demonstrate the poorest standards of
    driving.

The unreported bit was that they were selling ice-cream from a camera van.

They were quite open about the fact they'll nick you if you take the
piss. Whether on the bike safe day or not.

Yebbut that's just it. What if my idea of taking the piss is different to
    theirs?

Go on a bikesafe day and find out what their idea of taking the piss
    is. Then you'll know.

    :)

It was a bit weird at first, being encouraged to break the speed limit
by a copper. But he was very clear on when and where he thought it
    was appropriate.

I was told categorically not to break 30s and 40s. He didn't mind me
hitting 70 in a 50 to overtake but he looked a little disapproving.
Probably because the car was doing 50.

NSL was fair game and I won't say what we did. Motorway back from
Banbury was also a surprisingly high cruising speed. Quite a bit more
than I'd normally do in fact.

    Speaking of which...
My son is buying me this experience for my birthday.
He wants to know which day it will be.
Shall we book in for the 10 May?

RSVP pronto please, son needs an answer.

I've tried to book too, but no-one's home so I have to ask... Have you tried
booking for just you, or for the 4 of us?

I don't know if it's a good idea to have two bookings :)
