It is very dangerous and other road users don't see them until they are
right on top of you. The bike user should take into consideration that
car have more blind spots than bikes.

Bikes are always complaining about people not looking, but they are
going too fast for people to see them(cars can't see over the traffic
    like bike can).

It's good that a bike is as high as the helmet and as low as the road
surface. They go up as well as down. The headlamp is at a perfectly
    good level.

Average road user would just give a quick look in the mirror before
turning and is a bike is darting in and out of the traffic at high
speeds, then their is no chance of that car or lorry seeing that
    bike(until its too late).

Tough shit on the bike(r) then. They should take care filtering past
    cars at junctions.
