    Cane wibbled:
    GOOWAAAAN!

Assumming it's a B33 - I learnt to ride on one of those without the
side appendage. It used to hinge very nicely in the middle.

For the sake of hygiene, please either tuck yer trousers in your boots
or borrow a pair of bicycle clips.

The last thing of his I rode was an A65 Lightning. The gears were on
the right [correct] side of the bike, the brakes were piss poor and it
    shat oil everywhere.

    I loved it :)

The outfit, on the other hand is a different matter.

Work of the Devil himself. Burn it. Burn it *Now*, and thus save you mortal
soul (1) and subsequent broken limbs, misc damage to parked vehicles, third
    party liabilites etc.)
If you're going to do 3 wheels, symmetry is all. Having done a year and a
half with a pretty well setup outfit, it would still surprise me to the
point of having to pull over and gibber for a while. Outfits are *truly*
    scary things.

    (1) Oh it's Cane. As you were....

    Apparently.

    So I've heard.

  11. And yet they're about the cheapest vehicle to insure. Crazy.

I would *love* another outfit. When I had the Jawa: this one:-

    http://www.chateau.murray.dsl.pipex.com/images/Jawa.jpg

I learned how to negotiate the speed chicanes in sunny Morden's back
    streets on the throttle alone.

"Here comes one, so keep it wound on... throttle off NOW!... Bang open
    the throttle NOW.... Yippee!"

Yeah, yeah. I have been waiting for our transport guy to get some prices on
hiring a 7.5t Hiab (he thinks about £375 for the day). Our own wagons don't
have lifting kit or are too high off the ground. He reckons thaty we could
in theory jack the mill up onto a skid and drag it out into the open air
where it could be lifted by Hiab, but they're not sure about your gravel
drive ( got a photo of the drive/gate area you could email to my work
    address? jbyrne_AT_dextralighting_DOT_CO_UK).
The last option is to hire a trailer like the builders use for minidiggers
and dismantle the mill in situ.
I was gonig to email you only when I actually had an answer.
Apologies if the delay is causing you/Cane some grief.

I can get it to the front of the garage using an engine hoist and a fair
bit of muscle. The drive is a bit of a challenge. I got it *in* with a
friendly local farmer using a Manitou, but he's a tad busy at this time
    of year.
    I'll get something organised.
Christ, don't worry. It's a great excuse for me being bloody useless
    myself.

Lift & lower onto some planks with rollers underneath then use slaves to
    get it down the drive.

I'd just lay planks over the gravel then borrow a pallet truck to move
it. I've moved Bridgeport mills using a pallet truck several times and
if you remove as much as possible from the main casting it's a piece
    of piss.

Pallet truck we have. Planks we probably have.
Right I'll try and get a trailer and sod the transport manager, I'll do it
myself (with the help of a colleague or two methinks)..

System works great. We moved a heavy Stanley Cast iron range from the
vehicle all the way into the kitchen using several cut up spade
    handles as rollers.

    Over a gravel drive?

Planks down, rollers between mill and planks - and a winch, I think.
