Bikers

  1. I notice the sports bike brigade and a lot of others have decided to
    venture out today.

It's good to see more bikes on the road.

Your weather is presumably not as shitty as it is here then!

AOL, especially when one of them is mine :)

I rode through London for the first time in ages on Friday. What a bag
of shit that was. I really don't know how you couriers put up with it
    all day, every day.

I was going to be one of them, but the hangover put me off TBH.

I was pondering whether to take the bike or the car this morning, so I
logged on to the Met Office site, as you do, to read "fine all day,
occasional sunshine". The weather stick outside the kitchen window,
however, was drooping - meaning rain. Five minutes later it was
    raining.

You'd think modern technology would enable accurate forecasts of,
what, at least an hour ahead.

Yeah - winter doesn't seem to have happened this year. I've been
driving all through - even if it's just a bimble down to Fox's Diner.

in for a service today - 20 miles before, 20 miles after - and it was rather
    pleasant.

Jeans weather (though I did have thermals + jacket)...

It's been great for a miser like me. I still haven't switched the
heating on and it's looking like I'll make it right through winter
    without having to.

Until Anya moved in with me I rarely turned mine on. I didn't notice
the central heating pump didn't work for 1 year after moving in to the
    house.

Yeah but this place is fitted with a sophisticated underfloor heating
system known as the flat downstairs, likewise ceiling and wall heating
    courtesy of the neighbours.

For all I know they've been scratching their heads over having to turn
the thermostat up this year, but MY heating's been off throughout and
    I'm snug as a bug[1].

[1] Just dug out my digital thermometer and it's 21.3 deg C here and
    I'm in a T shirt.

  12. Yes, I noticed that on a blast down to the coast on my favorite
    b-roads.

I reckon I've overtaken about 1000bhp's worth of bike today.

Amazing how a fairing, sticky tyres and @105bhp slows a bike down
    innit!!!! ;-)

It's 41decF outside, and there's snow on the ground.

Sounds like the ideal opportunity to install a Batman style escape
shute. It's the only sensible option. Would be worth buying a
convertible and leaving the hood down though, to save on dented car
    roofs.
For whatever reason I'm not feeling the cold this year. Have been
strolling between two buildings at work in only a short sleeved shirt
through January, while colleagues wear coats. Perhaps I'm getting
    flabby and well insulated.

    Colorado Springs.

Brought a USB sync/charge cable for my PocketPC phone. Arrived to
find that it syncs but doesn't charge. So just went out and bought
    another fucking phone. That's neg.

Wouldn't it have been easier to buy a charger?

    Not quite as rock'n'roll though.

Couldn't find one. They don't seem to sell the iMate here (which is
    what I had).

So I've got an iPAQ 6300. Only my Kuwait SIM doesn't seem to work in
it (despite being quad-band) and the software edition has loads of
T-Mobile crap in it (I bought it off-contract, obviously), which I
    want rid of.

Oh ****, just realised that it might be locked to T-Mobile.

    Ideas?
