Heh, I dunno what they used. I only found out that they used them
because a mate of mine's dad had a shed full of rubber wings that he'd
pilfered from a GPO stores somewhere. I swopped some of my Moggy parts
with him for some bits for the ex-wife's 1964 2 door that I restored. He
binned the wings one day, then found out how rare they are later.

That's the same noise we're talking about I think. Sounds like an
    electric motor winding down loudly?

I guess he was saying that if you start at 70m/s, and finish at 0m/s,
then you have an average speed of 35m/s.

Only if breaking is a linear event.

  7. That's 268 meters. Not too far from 400m, if you add 0.6 seconds of
reaction distance. Say 100m off. Still a long distance. I'll not ride[1]
    past schools at 160 then.

    Cheers,
    [1] Happy now Pip?

Well, Simian was using equations for linear acceleration, so for these
    pruposes it is.

  9. IIRC I've topped that 95 on the A45 at Dav more than once. And in the
    cage, too.

    Do I get a prize?

It's also where wrote my first SV off, but that was at 30. Funny that.
If i'd been doing over 95 I wouldn't have taken that line...

These boots were made for walking too, apparently. That's novel.

Yeah, now that 3 people have spelled it out for me I've finally grasped
that the average speed of a body slowing from 70m/s -> 0m/s at a constant
rate of deceleration is going to be 35m/s. I_are_thick.
