No but you hit the nail on the head about extremists and I think it
holds water generally and was worth saying.

most of the time, necessitating violent takeover of neighbouring

You seem to have a different definition of success from me - one that
    includes:
    - only being in power for 12 years
    - driving a huge number of scientists and intellectuals abroad
    - leaving one's country split in two for 40 years
    - killing millions upon millions of people

He's lined up Broon as the patsy, and I imagine he's also got a few
bolt-holes prepared in case it starts to look like our fondest wish might
have a chance of coming true.

Granted, even so he must be quietly chuckling to himself at the
situation that Brown finds himself ensnared in.

  17. While on holiday last month and having read all the books I had taken
with me I picked up a copy in the hotels swop box of 'Spilling the
    Beans' by Clarissa Dickson-Wright.

Surprisingly, I found it a good read.

Interesting comments about Miranda[1] as he was known at Uni and in
    chambers.

The MP she had highest regard for, Jack Straw.

And her answer to the pompous hypocrisy spouted in the House of Commons?
She once got shagged behind the Speakers chair by an MP.
