This bit I don't like: "A driver who saw the tragedy estimated that the rider, who raced at Knockhill, was doing 100mph. " ....and "The taxi driver estimated the speed before the crash to be about 60mph. " He needs a better brief and should appeal. The plod tried to do me for reckless driving once and planned to call a witness "estimating" my speed at over 80mph. My solicitor had this ruled inadmissable. Few ppl can accurately estimate speed, and can be influenced, for example, by a loud exhaust or a lampost breaking the field of vision as the vehicle passes. Also his speed (or any opinion of) *before* the accident should not be admissable. If his Knockhill racing history or his number plate came out at the trial then again he has grounds for appeal. Both are irrelevent to the case yet would influence proceedings. Hold on though, it's in Scotland innit? Perhaps it's different over the border. Yes, I know someone died but the rider is still entitled to the best defence available under the law, particularly as asylum seekers regularly receive a slap on the wrist for killing someone on the road. riccip
