I'd like to try the pikey approach to making bikemovies and found this:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/productinfo.asp?WebProductID=201778

Would this suit to make reasonable movies on the move? Asking this as I'd
like to avoid chucking 300 quids worth of DVcam (no DV-in unfortunately, so
bulletcam not an option...) down the road....

Depends on the SD card you put in I guess...

I'm not looking for superquality, just some 'on the road' movies btw. Has
your movie been made, or is that a lost project. Can't remember having seen
    a post or owt.

1Gb SD-card, **** knows how long that will last, I guess some time (30
minutes plus?). For the amount of money spent (about 100 quid), I'm not that
fussed. What I was more interested in, was if anyone has this kind of camera
and what the quality is like. If normal filming is likely to be shit, I
really shouldn't bother ona shaky bike IYSWIM.
To be frank Bear, I'm a tad disappointed. You could have blamed at least the
drugs, put some effort in man :)
Without having seen it, it has already worked :)

Gotcha. Leading bike is no problem, that's everyone, apart from that dead
    guy....there..
Resolution is 640*480 at 10fps, slightly better at 320*240. Now, I know
fuckall about it, but it doesn't sound very good.
Well it starts with the drugs, only then society comes in.

Spete scribbled on the back of a napkin:
The frame rates are a bit grim IMHO - 20 fps at 320x200, 10 at 640x480.
Not to mention that it'll only take SD cards up to 256MB.

    a) Are you deliberately intending to crash?
    b) You can enabled DV-in on some (maybe most) DVcams
    c) You only need AV-in for bulletcams - although they can be expensive.

No no - the lead bike has to be quick, but you have to be quicker so
    you can keep up.

Is it too late to mention that it should have been footage?
I do like yours better though...

Well I sort of thought it was. Not that the thought of you fantasising
over Bear's footage[1] is any better.

    [1] Although rumour[2] has it that it's more like "Bear's five-inchage"
[2] But we don't listen to rumours[3], do we children?
[3] Unless we're Fleetwood Mac fans, obviously.

Not at all. It's simply that I can *never* resist the temptation of a
cheap jibe, especially when combined with a crap joke.

It's not something I'm proud of.
