    I do know a few riders with 2 stroke supermotos (CR500's KTM300's 380's) and
    yes they are a bit of a pain on the road in many ways, mostly due to the
    rather unforgiving power delivery.

    The WR would be a really good choice as there are a few simple mods you can
    do to make it a really good bike. If you go that route let me know and I'll
    pass you on to a mate who has one that he uses both on and offroad. Its a
    VERY quick bike, but has had the engine tuned by Bob Farnham - who's a bot
    of a whizz with these apparently.
