    She's gone.
    I'm gutted, but pleased.
I got £3200 which I think is fair.

Now I've got to think what sort of trail/enduro bike I can get
    for £1700

    Any ideas??

Should buy a decent XT600 with money left over for Supermotard wheels
    if so inclined..

A bit too big for what I want it for.
Motocross and a few enduros. Minimum road legality.

A bit too big IMHO, but I could be persuaded.
The XR 600 I road off road was pretty nice in a heavy sort of way.

Bandit 12, one missing mirror, slight scuff to clutch cover. ;)

Not on a MX track though.
    And I'm 6'2" and 18 stone!
    I'd kill the little fucker.

  11. Yamaha XT600E. Not the greatest on or off road, but amazing fun, utterly
bullet-proof, zero depreciation and can be run for dole money.

  12. Well, the poster didn't ask for a motocross bike....

    2 or 4 stroke?
    or not too worried?

If strokers are no problem, then a KTM 380SX or EXC would be spot on. Light,
powerful, but not "quite" as unmanageable as a CR500.

If a 4 stroke is what yer after, then a Yamy WR400 or a KTM520SX/EXC should
do the trick. You may have to pay a wee bit more than £1700 for the KTM
    though.

..... oh and check out www.muddystuff.co.uk as a good source for secondhand
    off-roaders.

Cheers, I've ridden an Yam WR and liked it.
I've also ridden 2 strokes off road but expect them to be a right PITA on
    the road,
and if I did want to put some road wheels on a la supermoto then I think a
    stroker would be shit??

    I really am quite indesicive!

Yep, I've seen that. All the decent ones seem to be in Bolton for some
    reason.

That's because the poster was pissed last night. I do need to get one that
will stand up to some Motocross abuse.

Not necessarily, especially if it says CR500 on there...

Actually if some of the posters in the German language motorcycle
newsgroups are to be believed then I'd leave KTMs alone. They're
    appearantly not *that* reliable.
