Bikeism? erm is that a phrase?

Having a quiet spin out on the K1200GT yesterday, got tucked in behind a
couple on an R1200GS on the A5, heading from Corwen to Betws y Coed, and to
be fair he was riding "nicely" so I was quite happy to trundle along behind
    him.

Just after the Goat Hotel some guys signaled to us that a speed trap was up
ahead, we weren't really going that quick anyway but just made sure we were
    at 60.

A bit further on, the police were in the middle of the road signaling us in.
I was a bit perplexed as I knew (by the GPS) we'd not exceeded 60.

Turns out it was a "check" to ensure only legal bikes are on north Wales
roads and somehow to reduce deaths (quite how this happens I don't know).
Anyway the officer who came to me took one look at the sparkly K12GT and
said "Oh I can see there'll be nothing wrong with this, here have this slip
of paper and show it if you get stopped again". The sheet basically said
Checked and gave some guff on what the stop was for and he'd written my reg
    number and name on it.

So if you want to be a bad boy, ride a Beemer 'cos it appears to be a get
out of gaol card in north Wales :) I suspect my treatment may have been
different had I been on the ZX12R perhaps?

What a bunch of patronising cunts North Wales plod seem to be. Do they
all take in the bollocks that Brunstrom spouts to the extent that they
bow and scrape at his every word.

Surely every self-respecting motorcyclist avoids N. Wales like the
plague now, so surely plod's job has been made a lot easier since that
**** took over the controls. There's no way you'll find me going there
for a ride-out, the chances of getting stopped for doing **** all wrong
are way too high and it just seems to me that all of N. Wales plod are
    cunts, not just Brunstrom.

I'll stick to riding in civilisation, thanks very much.

So what was the reason for the stop? I was under the impression (possibly
wrong it would seem) that they had to have some kind of suspicion of
wrongdoing in order to pull one over for a chat shall we say.

All of the ones I have chatted with have had a *good reason* for wanting to
converse with me and its never been my sparkling wit and charm that has
prompted the meeting. ;) I got stopped in South Mymms once on the M1. They
apparently joined just after me at Brent Cross. Now *that* was a little
    difficult to explain.

So do the police now have a licence to do WTF they like whenever they like
with reasoning for their actions coming after the fact?
