    1985 XT 350 won't start...

I had rebuilt top end and timed and everything and got it to start a few
weeks ago but I didn't have a clutch hub for it so I could start it but it
wasn't going anywhere. I got the clutch parts required installed them all
and now my bike won't start?

I've got spark on the plugs but it doesn't pull any gas into the cylinder.
When I kick start the engine it pushes a bit of air out the opposite way
through the carbs and barely any air into the cylinder? Thing is I didn't
change the cam's and the engine is still TDC when cams are at TDC position?

Any idea whats causing this? Help Please!

Tim I would re check the installation of the cam chain. If you can feel air
being pushed out the carbs the valve timing is wrong. I.e the intake vavles
are open while the piston is rising in the bore. I've seen several bikes
where it is easy to install the chain with the cam exactly 180 degrees off
which will produce the results you are describing. Do you have manual for
your bike. If not let me know I can scan the pages out of mine and email
    them to you.

Sorry to see the not so amusing remarks from "The Oldee Gentleman" . I've
seen his stupid comments on this use group before. He should really change
his handle to "The Old Ass Hole" Don't loose heart there are those out there
that are decent and will try to help you out.

WOW! Thank you sooo much for you help! I can't tell you how much I
appreciate kind people like yourself helping me out when I'm in my hour of
need. You must be the most popular person in your group of peers judging by
your kindness. Thank you soo much.

Oh and while I'm checking, could you do me a favour and check to make sure
your ASS isn't installed where you head should be?

    Thanks!
