Bike value?

  1. I'm trying to sell my 27 month old ZX9R(1) at the mo. Was offered £3500
trade in on it so figured I'd stick it up for sale at £4000 ono even though
the 'official' private sale price is about £4300, as anything over the trade
in price would be a bonus and I'd get shot of it quicker. However, a week on
    and not even an enquiry?

In the opinion of the collective wisdom that is UKRM - am I asking too much
or is it just a bit of a bugger trying to sell bikes at the moment?

    (1) it's on biketrader.co.uk if you want to see a picture

  2. ZX9s are cult bikes, but they are definitely cheap used buys - one
    reason being the sky-high insurance.

For a start, I'd re-word the advert, and pitch it at ukp3850. 4000 just
sounds more. And ditch the "ono" - all that says is: "I know I'm not
serious about this price so feel free to knock me down."

Just be more determined on the haggling.

  3. Thanks, appreciate the advice. I've amended the add and the price. The place
I'm getting the new bike is happy to wait for another week or so to see if
mine sells, obviously 'cos it's less hassel for them if they don't have to
take a trade in. Fingers crossed :)
