    No doubt 954's, 2001-2 R1's and maybe a Gixxer 750/1000 could be had for 9500 - 12000

13,500km??? It's worn out. Now, if it had 1,000 kays on it, then perhaps
    it'd be saleable.... [1]

BV> considering selling it, too bloody heavy for me

What do you consider not to be heavy? I'm looking at getting something
in the not too distant future. The bikes that have my attention are the
ZZR12, CBR1100, maybe even the ZX12, and after reading the current AMCN,
there's now the ST4S, the Triumph and even the Aprilia.

So many bikes, so few dollars.....

[1] Search google groups going back two years for the saga of me trying
to sell a ZZR1100 with 90,000 km on the clock. And comments on Guy
Allen's (AMCN columnist) story of him selling a Blackbird with 19,000 km
    - he had about $9k on the bike which was worth about $2-3k more than
that, going by the Redbook and other bikes on the market at the time...

  6. [1] a ZZR1100 with 90000km on it is a lot different to a ZZR1200 with
    14000km on it.

    **** off spammer bitch!

By the way - what was the name of that leather treatment you were
recommending? My gear is looking VERY dry after the past week's
    rather-hot-weather riding.

the easy way to tell is the standard has a single round headlight versus the
    S has the fairing headlight

'S' has a bit of bikini fairing IIRC, whereas the 'not' is
    pretty much naked...

    Yah, here'y'go...

(although, IMNSHO, the current model is a bit of a shocker. The
wacky angles, and the wacky colour choices makes it a non-interesto
for me! The Red/Blue/Yellow ones over the past couple of years
    are far more palatable IMHO).

  12. Spammer bitch eh... lol

The stuff to use if you wanna do it cheaply is baby oil, if however you want
to use a commercial product then I recommend waproo nourish.

  13. That's a fortunate coincidence---BT has a large tub of baby oil in the
    booth...

    Obviously.

My point was that there are people out there who expect bikes to have
bugger all kays on them and then pay peanuts for it. Like Guy Allen's
tale about people responding to his ad for a 1999 Blackbird with around
21,000 km on it, and them saying that it had too many kays up. He was
asking under $10,000 for it, if I remember correctly. It was a bargain
in anyone's terms. When I rang up he'd already sold it.

My ZZR1100 had 96,000 km on it and it was still in great condition. But,
everyone who rang up about it baulked at the mileage. And I was only
asking $4,500 for it (Redbook at the time had it listed at around
    $6.500).

  16. You think that's bad? I ended up selling my '97 Blackbird due to
marriage break situation. It had 55,000km on it and I ended up giving
it away for $6500 because everyone said it had too many k's on it (and
I urgently needed the cash at the time).

What a load of crap. Engine was as strong as the day I bought it. And
I lived 50km out of Hobart at the time, so 99% of its km were on long
    open road rides ...

    Shit happens.

  18. Ask a few ausmotians about my "driveway". OK They are all corners, but
they were high speed corners. Life's a beach :)
