Well there you go then, problem solved. Just look out for woodworm on the
    instrument panel.

The going down Hanger Hill, seeing a queue of traffic, reaching for the
front brake, and the handle going all the way back to the bar with no
    resistance, moment.

Thank christ for good observation and v-twin engine braking.

Once I'd stopped, and wiped the shit out of my pants with a dock leaf, the
brakes were absolutely fine. No leaks, no nothing. Fluid still up to the
brim. Had it checked, all absolutely fine.

Was very weird that nothing seemed to be wrong with the brakes afterwards,
though, so I haven't entirely discounted the fact that my hand might have
    slipped off the lever.

There's a GSXR600 just down the road from the office in one of the bays at
the bottom of Newman Street that's painted up in FP1 turquoise. The sad
    fucker.

there's always the possibility that you were suffering a temporary
lobe-inversion and had pulled in the clutch lever...

You have to take what you get, if you're a woodworm these days.

Hmm, maybe. Different riding style, though ...
Oh sure, and I reckon the having-to-remember-to-be-in-the-right-gear thing
would get on my tits fairly quickly. I just like the look of them, and
they're meant to handle like a dream. Not that a Blade by comparison would
be a useless barge, though ...
They're meant to be a bit raw - still wouldn't mind blagging a go, though
    ....
You're right, though if I was in the market for a hyper-tourer, it'd be one
    of those.

    You can say that again.

I'm quite shameless about it. I'd really like a Bimota Mantra. In
    yellow, obviously.

Don't fancy them. Bit too "tourer" for my tastes, though I'm sure it's
    a great bike.

Shame, it sounds like a 955 Tiger might suit. Lower & lighter than the
GS, more powerful, & generally more hooligan-like to ride. If it's just
reliability worries that put you off, forget them. I've been a
member/co-moderator of the Tiger Yahoo list for many years, & the only
common foibles with 955's are the fuel gauge telling lies & hamfisted
dealers/owners breaking the plastic fuel tank quick connects (brass
    replacements are available).

What you seem to want is a Bandit 12 that handles.

So, for some approximation of handles, streetfightered GSXR1100.

    What year is it again?

The same effect can be observed after a good tank slapper.

  20. The 'not' part, obviously.

Okay, Aprillia Tuono and Z1000 have been mentioned so how about...MV
    Brutale?
