Bike turntables

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Phil Launchbury, Mar 4, 2005.

  1. Well - I have authorisation to get a centrestand and turntable for my
bike so that I can get it out onto the road under power rather than
having to push it up a gravel slope onto the road :)

    Sooo..

Centrestands I can cope with - just wander down to my local Triumph
emporium, slap some wedge on the counter and Robert, he your mother
    brother..

    Turntables - slightly more tricky.

I want one that is portable (if possible) and doesnt have to be
    fastened to the garage floor.

    Anyone got any ideas?

I always swung the FJ around on the side stand - very easy once you get the
    knack.

  4. Wimp. I used to pick up the R1 with one hand, and put it where I wanted
    it.

Perhaps we've accidently stumbled upon the origins of 'watersports'....

  11. No - I leave that sort of thing to you. Besides which shaving is
    easier.

I did this trick with my FJ1100 when we had a flat and no garage just a
narrow alley with a small yard at the end. Then one day I found out you
can't get up after the bastard stand has snapped and you are pinned under
the Yam. Ever bench pressed 600lbs? I fucking can't!!

Untested idea, but what about a couple of circular sheets of stainless

    Turning bikes
Matt does it with the 9R, I don't like watching because...
With his accident prone streak this is bound to happen.

Ow. No. Eyebrows are bad enough. Wax or shaving is the only way.
