Bike Transport

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by Capt_about_lunchtime, Aug 7, 2011.

  1. As part of my unoffical self managed Super Fund I have recently purchased a
    Yamaha DT400 1978 , you're all drooling now, I can tell.

So now I require transport of this mighty steed from Gippsland Vic to
    Brisbane Qld.
Although the machine is a collectable and fine example of a late seventies
classic dirt bike its monetary value, at present, is such that transport by
specialised motorcycle transporters is a little expensive, as in approx 1/3
    the cost of the bike.

I have had a couple of Montesa's sent up from Tassie, still waiting for
their value to explode, via a furniture removalist in the past which worked
out quite satisfactorily with regard to cost and service but that was
organised by the seller and it was a while ago.

Can anyone here point me in the direction of a possible suitable transport
    Co.

All witty, wacky and wsefull replies appreciated

I'd have thought $50 from Gippsland to Qld is cheap
1/3 the cost of the bike.

Shit man, I've allready been quoted $455.
Only paid $300 to get the Cota up from Tassie. I was hoping for that or
    less.
What in hells name you think a DT400 is worth? I might be prepared to
simply on sell her if a fools making a high ball offer.

  5. I would have to get back
That is for a return trip.
personalised service, one bike, one trailer, securely tied down and covered
    door to door.

Take the $455 if that is all the bike is worth

Catch a Greyhound down and ride it back up. That's your cheapest
    option.
