I will show you pictures of the sporty CG125 I once owned, complete with
CB250 G5 silencer lashed on, racy graphite grey and pearl white paint
(with red pinstripe), hugely oversized Avon SM Mk11 rear tyre and
    modified RD125LC rear mudguard.

    Sheer class, I tell you

  3. Ace bars on my Why Bother 100, and I thought they looked really cool.
Oh, and at the same time it wore tartan panniers.

I had "Ace bars" on my z200 for a while. Well, they weren't really
ace bars, they were standard ones turned upside down, but I thought it
    was close enough.
    ye gods!

  6. ¡Uf! Every now and again, I'm reminded that English does have conjugation...

A bloke giving directions in Antequera yesterday "...as you get there,
    you'll saw the police building...".

A mate put ace-bars on his. It was quite comfy.

I know, I know. You remember those little fabric-backed ones that used
to adorn every single Honda stepthru of the era? Old boys fitted them to
cart their sandwiches and Thermos flasks. Well, I bought a pair of
those, and tartan was the only choice.

I fitted a screen to the YB, and wiv screen and panniers I thought it
looked almost Harley-esque. If I squinted. Then I fell off it, broke the
screen, bent the bars, and fitted ace bars instead.

But I kept the panniers, and I must admit, even at the time I wasn't
sure about the aesthetics of the combination.

  12. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember
    (The Older Gentleman) saying
    something like:
But surely, lurking at the back of even the novice's garage, is a tin of
    black paint?

Imagine a set of decals, with no fairing to stick them onto.

It just so happens I am in that very situation at this exact moment in
    time.

My left side fairing is in the paintshop and I have the new graphics
here waiting for it to come back.

    I still haven't a clue what you're on about, I think I need to get a man
    in.

For the love of god, why? Were you born middle-aged?[/QUOTE]

I know the bloke[1][2] who bought his 550 Four last year. He described
    TOG as 'strangely eccentric'.

[1] I'll be nice about Alan, he's one of my better customers and a
    CB250RS lover.
[2] He has the most immaculate CB250RSD, 500 Four, GS750 and CB72, plus
a 400 four 3/4 restored. If the others are anything to go by it'll be
one of the best around and totally original.

  19. Huh, Actually, he's a really, really nice bloke. What's he doing
knocking around with a reprobate like you? I mean, he doesn't even like
2-strokes (AFAIK). He bought that 550 for his missus, IIRC.

Yes, I've seen pictures of some of his stuff. The 500 Four is fantastic.

  20. Since I fist had the YB, unfortunately. Next French Run, I'll put you
two at opposite ends of the hotel.
