Ok, I have not long passed my test and now have a new toy (GSXR600). whilst
this is probably a stupid question your help would be appreciated. I know I
need to clean the bike after a ride at this time of year, particularly if
they have been spraying grit but what tips can you give me for keeping those
nice gleaming white rims clean from the oil splatter off the chain. Is there
a easy way to get the splatters off the rim or something I could buy to
    help.

    Rob.

But I do suppose it depends on what you want from your eels that is.

  5. Ooo, ta. That looks like WD-40 but with ptfe and in a nicer can :)

Is there anywhere on the high street it can be bought? Google gives lots
of co.uk results but I'd like to go to a shop and buy one.

Try Halfords, they usually put in with the pedal cycle stuff.

That'll look rather nice in my toolbox, I fancy.

I won't even go into Halfords with my credit card now, too many nice
    tools there.

If the OP lets me know when hes got the shaft [1] then I'll answer the rest,
although I can say that one of the options I'm considering involves keeping
the bike at my house, where not only will I keep it in a reasonably clean
condition [2] but I will also ride it for him and remove any safety concerns
    he may have.[3]

    [1] Snigger.
[2] Roughly to the standard of 'covered in cack'. 'tis reasonable to me.
[3] At no charge - how good is that?

  13. Good point. Has emulsion paint got water in it?

I remember some chemicals being emulsifiable in that brown sticky gunk
would turn a beigey colour when mixed with water.

you appear not to understand the meaning of the phrase "water soluble".
