Bike licence first?

  1. I got my bike and car L's at 16 and 9 months to the day and bought a bike on
the way home. Got the car licence at 17 but after realising they could take
it back off you, mothballed it for a few years until I had blacks. Did all
the lawbreaking on the bike L's in the meantime. They never took them off
me and it only cost 4 days in the lockup to repay the thousands of dollars
of fines years later. Got the full bike licence at about 19 on a 900 Duke.

Youse Cockroaches and Mexicans had it easy with this ride-around-on-your-Ls
business (especially before the 250 restrictions!).
I lost 6 points simply because I wasn't complying with the Qld
escort-a-learner rule correctly. [...and they waited until I'd sat for and
attained my P licence before applying the points and taking it back from
    me!]

(I did licence tests on an R5 350 Yamaha (pass), a CB360 Honda (fail and
then pass) and an H1 500 Kawasaki (pass). I've had two
    restricted/provisional licence-periods but I haven't actually been
de-licenced since I was 19-ish [and just before I bought my Ducati 860])

I lost my bike licence for points accumulation and had to do a new test in
1983, I had just purchased a Suzuki GSX1100ED the tester was not at all
impressed about me doing a riding test on a 1100.

  4. My best licence test was 7am in the morning (early appointment before
school), in July, in a Mini Moke with the side curtains off. He was not
impressed. I failed for not looking out the year window when reversing, the
fact it was too high and totally fogged up had nothing to do with it.

  5. We had restrictions, unless you held a full car licence, but just didn't
    worry about 'em!

I don't think I've ever made it through a points period without losing my
licence (maybe once when I was a Postie) up until lately. If I make it 'til
Easter, touch wood, it will be the first time in history I ever got a clean
    slate without walking!
