One of the girls a work commented that I look more of a thug when I'm
wearing a suit than I do in casual clothes.

There was a pub in Fareham, Hants that would serve bikers, but not
    sailors!

  4. Pretty nice, as it goes. I've been working like a ****, as you might
imagine. But pretty soon I need to close the deal on a place to live,
    and find a motor.

Looked a bike today, though. Might buy it if it's still there when
    I've got an apartment sorted.

I can recommend the Saracens Head in Beddgelert.

    http://web.ukonline.co.uk/beddgelert.village/saracens.htm

We've gone there for quite a few years now, as members of a group and as
a couple, and always enjoyed it.

what are you intending to do with all the ones you have here?

  7. dunno. Should get rid of them, really (except the 400 Four) but
they'll raise so little cash that it hardly seems worth it.

    What you looking at then?
'Little' is such a subjective term. I'm sure there'd be enough to buy
    one half-decent bike, wouldn't there?

  9. A 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 1000sqft place with a detached garage, until I
    find a house to buy.

Oh, I see what you mean.

    Gixxer thou.
Dunno. The CBR600 might bring in 1500 quid, I suppose. The Benley's
not worth any more than a tenner. The half-shares in the 7R and the
RGV250 don't come in at more than a grand, but are troublesome,
    administratively.

ITYM walking back and smacking the **** who was leaning out of the pub
window telling us to **** off after we'd been refused drinks because
we rode bikes. If you're going to be banned give the cunts a good
    reason to do it.

That's exactly the same weapon of choice that was used in the case I
mentioned. The **** was left hanging out of the window semi-conscious
after a good solid smack from a crash helmet and nobody came out of
the pub to follow up the discussion.

Eh? Oh, hang on, you mean the one with long blond hair, right? Yeah, I
    can see that. Heh.

Except it was neither of those things back then.

I was told I looked like CID in the same situation.

Got hair now, mind, so I just look like a fat speccy twat, suit or not.

I can't remember its name, but I think it was near the junction of
West St and Quay St, and it was well known as a no go area to those
stationed at HMS Collingwood. A couple of my colleagues tried it and
    got ejected.

I got served in there just once, when I was filthy dirty, wet,
bleeding and oily from trying to fix the stand on my mate's (Bob
Avery: I wonder where he is now) Triumph in the rain.

I can't remember for the life of me why we chose to try that pub just
    then.

  18. Take on a TOG run and it would be a Benley Continental.

    It's Benly, btw.

  20. You will be saddened to hear then that Janet Fisher (who ran it) died
suddenly a couple of months ago at the age of 57. I don't know if it
has changed at all with the new people.
