I haven't heard any specifics, but was listening to the radio this morning,
and they said that a motorcycle was down on I-35 at 121...

    Hope it turns out okay...

That's horrible. At least the son made it.

It's kind of amusing that, as I meet people post accident, one of the
first things they ask me is something to the effect of "How is the
bike?" or "when did you wreck the bike?"

They don't even imagine that my bike had nothing to do with my
    injuries.

I usually tell them that there isn't a scratch on the bike and let
them try to figure it out from there.

  3. Helmet Story:

We sold a 1979 Triumph Special to a kid who was extremely picky about
any dirt, ding or scratch. He was riding several blocks from the shop
when he hit some loose gravel in a turn and fell down. He was doing all
of 5 mph. He picked the bike up and rode over to the shop because his
muffler had a scratch on it. He related the accident to us and my boss
said "Kid, have you looked at your helmet?" Up to this point he had been
preoccupied with is scratched muffler and he hadn't noticed his helmet.
The forehead section, just above the visor, was caved in. It looked like
someone hit it with a hammer. The bike had a little scratch and the
rider walked away unhurt because of some safety gear.

Dressing like a pirate and wrapping a rag around your head won't help
    you in a fall!
