    Hello URM,

I'll jump straight to the point. I am about to move into my girlfriends
place (im in leicester shes in london) I've devided to keep my flat and rent
it out. All my bike stuff, insurance licence etc is registered to this
address and I will be riding my bike around London am I breaking any laws?
do I need to change all of my registered details regarding the bike.

The reason I ask is well if me moving there doesn't work out I have my place
to move back into and dont have to change my details all over again.

I just wanted to know if this was legal or ilegal before I start riding
around London and getting pulled over and then landing myself in grief.

    Appreciate any info on this.

    cheers

  2. You need to tell your insurance company about keeping the bike
somewhere else, and change the address on the bikes V5 in case you
pick up a ticket and dont get the NIP as it was posted to Leicester.

Or put a redirect on to your post and dont tell about your move.
That will be the cheapest option.
It all depends on how legal you want to be.

That's the one I'd go with as long as you can live with it on your
conscience that you're not paying those lovely insurance companies the full
    whack they want...

And if anything *does* happen (like an accident/claim or getting nicked)
then you were *just_visiting* the g/f in London...

Nice one ounds like what I will do.

I'll invest in some extra security while in London, would imagine anything
not locked down gets pinched where she lives. I did have a look at a new
insurance mine expires soon and it was you could say a bit more than I am
used to paying, suppose this goes without saying in London.

Thanks for the good advice Dave

ITYF the ins co's call this "non disclosure of material fact", can be a bit
of a pisser if it comes to light after you have just inadvertantly mowed
    down a bus queue.

  6. And for those who say it doesn't happen - it happened yesterday in
Dublin. A bus mowed down a bus queue and another bus ran into the back
    of it; five killed.

Ok, it was a bus and not a bike, but I'll bet the bus driver wasn't
expecting that when he got up in the morning.
