I wonder if anyone knows of a mobile bike detailing business in sydney
    's west.
A acquaintance suffering poor health. Wants to sell his S2 duc, an
    eighties SS variation 900.
His bikes have always been immaculate. So I was supprised to see the duc
    looking so poor.
Poor health has stooped him riding some time ago. And the bike needs a
    good clean up before selling.
And he is looking for a detailer.

Any ideas on what the bike's general value?
It should come up looking pretty tidy after a good cleanup.

He's a good man and always after some extra work.

    Excerpt from him:
    -------------------

Below are some generalised estimates for what I typically charge. Each
bike is different, so I can't be too accurate in a quote without seeing
    the bike.

In general, fully detailing a bike takes a day or a little more. Most
time is taken up by the thorough cleaning stage. Older, well used bikes
really benefit from special extra services like corrosion
removal/conversion, paint touch ups and rubber/plastic treatment. And
referral to specialist repairers for tricky pait or trim work.
The idea is getting the bike looking as best it possibly can - for
maintaining pride of ownership or for sale time - for about a couple of
hundred dollars. Besides, you'd rather spend your spare time riding
rather than bent over with a toothbrush and noxious solvents (attention
those intending to father or mother a new motorcyclist).

    Typical full detail charges:
Standard commuter/naked bike with cast/mag type wheels usually around $160.
Tourer/cruiser $200 plus (especially Beemer boxers with wire spoke wheels.)
Sports/fully faired usually around $180 or a little more.

    Other rates:
    Thorough clean only $60 - $100.
Re-polishing (hand) of polished or plated wheels $60
Travel charges apply for longer journeys. (from Eastern Sydney).
Alternative: Have a detailing site (with secure lockup) at 12 Crystal
St. Petersham. Or can arrange transport with one of Sydney's excellent
    MC transporters.
