Does anyone know of a good bike cleaning fluid, you know the type that
sprays on and disolves all the crud then you hose it off.

Last time I took the car in to be cleaned they said do you want "wheel acid"
yes said I, they come up like new.

Tried lots of wheel sprays and stuff but I'm sure there is a better product
around that the valet people use.

    Your thoughts?

Muc Off is sold in the push bike section at Halfords.

Your local pedal bike shop will have it. That's what it was
originally designed for and marketed to.

Good stuff. I spray the bike with water first because Muc Off can be
diluted. Brush it on rather than spray it on. It's more work but you can
wipe it over most bits and rub it in where the dirt is concentrated.

Buying it - Halfords about £30 for 5 litre. Nelsons Cycles near Abergavenny
£15.5 for 5 litre. So shop around.

And a toothbrush for those hard to reach places. And one of those
brushes for painting behind radiators are good for getting deep inside
things where a toothbrush is not long enough.

Auto Glym motorcycle cleaner. Also available in Halfords but expect to
find it under motorbike rather than in the push bike department.

  17. I use Heine Gericke gel cleaner (order ref 28000317 on their website) -
seems to work OK. Get the 5L since it's significantly cheaper (13.99
GBP, as opposed to 4.99 GBP for 1L). Spray it on, scrub the tough bits,
    rinse off.

And for the grease, roadfilm and really tough stuff, there is (was?)
some stuff called Desolv-It. One of the best degreasants I've used -
could use it on almost anything. Trouble is, I've run out and can't find
it any more :-( So if anyone knows where I can get some more.....
