What disolves dried on insects best without much effort?
What disolves dried on insects best without much effort? Hydrochloric acid - but this is quite hard to come by... Best bet is battery acid, it's really cheap, and you'll have some close to hand. Stonge PS Usual disclaimers apply (there are a few people I know who'd actually try this!)
Stick a towel in a bucket of hot water then drape it over the offending area. Find something else to do for an hour, then remove towel & said bugs will wash off easily.
Better still, drape the towel over the fairing and the bucket, with a little Olbas Oil in the water. Get your bike to inhale, deeply. This clears the airbox and the pores at the same time.

No it's not. I've bought some Muc-Off for the mtb so going to give that a go on the GSXR. It can be bought in bulk so works out a good bit cheaper.
What he said... get a kitchen paper towel or some loo paper, soak well, apply to the offending area and leave there for 10 to 20 mins, wipe off... job done...
