Is it possible to clean a bike without ripping your hands to shreds on
all the little pissy sharp bits of alu and fastenings?

I never seem to manage it and always end with hands covered in loads
    of little cuts.

Gloves are useful in this respect.

  3. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
Lob a local kid a couple of quid; far better the urchins get their hands
bloody than you and you'd be contributing to the local economy. Some
kids would love to clean your bike anyway.

Yeah, I've tried with latex and with rubber coated work gloves but
never seem to be able to get into the fiddly places with them on.

Well, apart from the fact I like the job to be done properly, I'd be
far too worried about the bike being knocked over for anyone other
than a professional valet to do it.
