  2. Try 10k.

That's what some geezer spent an Monkey Bikes UK in Leamington.

You can get a DOHC four-valve head conversion which costs something
silly like over two grand on its own.

I've got a catalogue somewhere if anyone wants to borrow it ;-)

Seriously, folks, something for every pocket. Nitrous kits, or just a
set of pattern rings. Chinese oversize piston or a Japanese engineered
110cc race kit. Cheap pair of shocks or proper gas struts. Monstrous oil
cooler or..... or something even more monstrous.

I tell you, I'm looking at my Dax and wondering....

  4. That's the thing I want to avoid - plus it's hassle. I'd like
something light enough to almost lift on and off.

How quick do you need it? I ask because the CB250RS is coming up for
grabs as soon as the GPZ500 is completed. A single 20 quid donation to
Riders for Health is all it will cost you and you get a shedload of
spares as well. There's potential to keep it running for as long as you
like, as there's the best part of 2 rolling chassis, and a spare
    engine/box[1] for parts.

    Interested?

[1] Blown up but still has good cam/head and gearbox/cases and
    ancillaries.

Ach Shirley, they're not too bad; I had one for a couple of years and

  8. Hmmmm... 2 stroke.

Ideally I want a bike less than 6 feet long, that I can run on red
Diesel, doesn't come from India, cruises at 70 to 90, does 100mpg and
    weighs 120kg or less.

You have first refusal. It will be a while before it goes, so I'll affix
a little buff tag to the handlebars with "reserved for Mr S Atkinson"
    then.
