  1. Well, yeah. Still ... it's marginally better than doing what the Americans
    tell you, really ..

  3. Yeah, Paris is a lovely city.

Unfortunately though, the last time I was there it was full of frogs.

  9. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "platypus"
<takes bow> That was a bit of a turn up.

  11. Well quite ... but the above is based on some notion of 'benevolence',
which at the moment is probably the case. Were civil disobedience and
(otherwise lawful) dissent to become widespread, don't for a second
imagine that the methods described above wouldn't be used to stifle
that. CND were never a threat to the existence of the state. That
didn't stop their mail being opened, their telephones being bugged, and
    their movements being tracked.

  12. Quite aside from the idea that only those with something to hide, need
fear, is the question of civil liberties. I commit no crime, and have
nothing to hide, but I just do _not_ want the government knowing what
I'm doing. Who the **** gave them the right to infringe into every area
of my life ? Will they be posting a camera in my bedroom to ensure I
don't have sex too often ? What about one above the bog, to make sure I
don't have a sly wank on the pan, or use more than the approved three
    sheets?

They're cunts. Cunts, cunts, cunts, and I feel the time has come to say
'stop!'. Governmental intrusion into our private lives has gone too
far, and they have to be stopped.
