It was round about Sat, 11 Mar 2006 12:25:50 -0600,, when the famed
Christofire of the dreaded was struck by a sudden insight:
Garden of England innit. Or is that just Kent?
Well, I'll be hornswoggled. A beerfest that's within reach, and on a
date that I'll likely be available. All I need to do is persuade SWMBO
that we need to go, take the c*r and I can get rat-arsed ...

Is there any kip space available... I would love to come down.

Will see if there are any travel lodges or such nearby, or if you could
    recommend anywhere cheap and cheerful.

There's a Pontins at Camber which is reassuring ghastly.

I spent 3 glorious holidays there getting pissed and laid :)

I don't do cheap but if you glance towards Rye there are a number of
B&B's there and prawn lives in the town so should be able to suggest.

It seems quite likely that the BBQ will take place in Rye after
    conversing with prawn.

Actually, the last time I went, we got a sticker to put in the car
window. They hardly ever checked and when we went in and out on foot, I
don't recall them ever asking to see our pass/key/whatever.

If I'm thinking of the one you're thinking about (Go to
<http://www.park-resorts.com/> and select "Camber Sands" from the
drop-down list on the right of the page) I got the following prices,
but I've no idea about the quality of the accommodation but it's
something I probably wouldn't stay in:

    Description Price
    Silver 3 bed bungalow sleeps 6 £154.00
    Bronze 2 bed caravan sleeps 6 £99.00
    Bronze 3 bed caravan sleeps 8 £129.00
    Gold 2 bed caravan sleeps 6 £169.00
    Gold 3 bed caravan sleeps 8 £184.00
    Silver 3 bed caravan sleeps 8 £154.00
    Silver 12ft wide caravan sleeps 8 £169.00

This is after using the website "saver" option which would appear to
be 'early booking.' I haven't looked too closely but the price would
appear to be per caravan, not per person (although it doesn't indicate
this) so you could squeeze six peepers in and they'd be paying £16.50
    per person.

I'm not getting involved in accommodation, however.

  13. That's quite cheap. I'll be staying with Ma in Rye, though. Cheaper ;-)

Probably about time I bit the bullet and turned up for some sort of RL
UKRM event. So count me provisionally in, assuming all 124cc's of my
Korean-made POS manage to carry me that far.

    http://www.pontins.com/centres/cambersands/index.php is the link to
    their actual one in CS.

There accomodation can best be described as "basic" and "well loved[1]"
Can't remember prices but 200 quid was about right for a week in a two
    bed chalet.
Nor me. I was considering wandering in during the day and making use of
the facilities but in reality, a better time can probably be got away
    from the nasty place.
