I really think you should 'fess up. You know you'll feel better
    afterwards.

He said he was on a "roadshow" in the 'con the wrinklies mode'. As it was
North of Watford, he may have a problem with electricity and similar modern
    marvels.

There appears to be a bit of a theme to your recent posts. Worrying really.

Perhaps if you were to dicuss it in the group? I'm sure The Doctor would be
    fully supportive...

He is back now, with a story, which I'll leave him to tell.

It wasn't my fault, you see.

    The story involves:

Two rental cars at around £24,000

Two rental car drivers (one of which was me)

One tyre blow out 'at motorway speeds' by the other rental car

Other rental car planting itself into the side of my rental car

My rental car being bumped into the central reservation by it

No injuries, but there was plenty of panels missing down both sides of
'my' car which I understand is going to be written off along with the
other one. Both rather, rather new and not on the cheap side of the
    rental car scale.

A racing incident. No blame attached to anyone as far as I can see.

Tyres shouldn't really explode. My company never takes the rental car
insurance policy as they self insure. I'm sure I'll be involved in a
    some meeting about it eventually.

Tell that to Firestone/Bridgestone. They had many explode of Ford's SUVs.

Did the police have much to say?

Didn't see any. We wrote the cars off and turned off the motorway
into a nearby industrial estate car park as they both still moved
(slowly). I had to climb out of the door as neither the front
driver off passenger door wanted to open anymore. I then rang up the
rental company who dropped off two carbon copies and we carried on.
All in all I think the delay lasted all of an hour.

All of them. The unicycle would be the hardest.

I'm relying heavily on Mick Whittingham still having contacts.
