    You want beta blockers? Why?

I've got a selection in the cupboard somewhere. Some are plain beta
blockers, some are a compound that Adie messed with a while back (have a
diuretic in the mix). Leftovers from the time I was weaned off them onto
    the losartan/alpha blocker/diuretic triumvirate.

I can't think why you'd want them, an hour or so after taking one I feel
like shit. Initially I feel lightheaded for about an hour or so, then
that turns to nausea and a feeling of emptiness all over. I've done ****
all but sit on my arse since I started taking them this afternoon, never
in my life have I felt so lethargic, not even after my TIA. I feel
better in as much as I can't feel my heart pounding through my chest,
but it comes at a price.

You might get a package through the post if this carries on.

Well, if you are ever passing this way you are welcome to lift them from
the cupboard when I'm not looking.

What dose and actual drug did the GP start you on?

40mg three times a day. She did say I should cut down to two after 12
noon or even just one at midday if I think I feel ok. I'll experiment
    and see how it goes.

I took atenolol - which is the most commonly prescribed beta blocker. It
has less of an effect on your brain apparently. The one you are on can
"permeate the blood brain barrier" and may cause more drowsiness.

Checking a couple of websites, 120mg seems to be a high starting dose.

My GP started me on a very low dose and gradually increased it. I ended up
on 4x the initial dose. Your GP seems to have whacked you straight onto the
dose that most people end up on after a few months...

I liked my old one too. Tyres were pretty hard to get hold of even back in
1984. We shoehorned a TS185 lump into mine after I had (yet again) seized it
up. Always wondered if an X7 lump would fit....

By the sound of it I'm glad I never tried them. The combined
losartan/diuretic was bad enough. Lately I have been getting away with
just the losartan. Five a day innit.

I've had mates who were put on them, and they described a general
feeling of not GAF on any level [1], along with some fatigue, with the
fatigue passing in a few days, but not totally, so you're mildly stung
out for a bit, but not uncomfortably so.
    [/QUOTE]
    Then I need anti-propropanol, I'm currently in a state of don't GAF
about anything without the aid of medicine.

Strangely enough I'm still careful about staying alive because I'm
staying off the bike whilst my concentration is non-existent :-( .

it's quite a weird drug effect - you don't actually feel as if you've
taken anything, but any anxiety you might have had just seems to slip
    your mind.
