Would you think Nov/Dec best time in year to buy a new bike in terms
    of getting best deal??

The best time is when the dealers are not selling them. This varies.

Welll if you're looking at a 2003 model and it's being superceded by a
massively upgraded model[1] *and* you go in late in the month when the
salesmen may need to hit their targets[2] it may be.... :)

    [1] Say, ZX-9R, Blade or R1
[2] Assuming they have a monthly sales target to hit

  7. Does the same thing apply to s/h bikes? I was thinking that now I've
jacked my job in, I could make a few quid speculating in the s/h bike
    market.

Oh shit, was that a commercial post?

    a) Have you really jacked the job?
    b) Making money in the bike trade is possible, but you've got to know
your stuff, and it's not for the faint-hearted.

  9. Yup. Notice went in yesterday. One long trip to España (probably via
    Alsace) coming up.
    Oh.

Err, you might want to check dates first - we're both away for a fair
bit over the next month or two...

  11. Do you need a replacement?
Or have a lot of money to throw away whilst learning your
    stuff...

  12. Oh well. Perhaps I'll take the more direct route then. I'll give you a
    shout anyway.

  14. Badly phrased question. Does your soon-to-be-old company
    need a replacement for you?
    mi casa?

Just let us know the dates - if you want to add some skiing we're
going to Zermatt for the weekend of 28th November. Large group,
probably including Adie. It'll be her first time on skis so worth it
just for the laugh, I imagine.
