Best of the Season To You

In 1843, Charles Dickens wrote the classic A Christmas Carol, a story
about a man whose fate is changed by the Christmas-eve visit of three
ghosts. The ghosts show Scrooge visions of the past, present and
future, and leave him to choose for himself how his story will end.

I'm inspired by this story because, in the end, it is Scrooge himself
who creates a better future through his expression of goodwill toward
his family, employees, colleagues and even the strangers he encounters
    in the street.

Every day we all see and know hundreds of people who are likewise
choosing to make their lives and the lives of those close to them
better, because they carry goodwill, courtesy and integrity with them,
in every part of their lives.

Like the reformed Scrooge they are creating a better future themselves
    and for others.

May you all have a wonderful Christmas and like Scrooge may you all
enjoy a brighter day in the New Year.

    See Ya On The Road

    Don

A merry Christmas to you as well, Don.

I've a confession to make. I've never been a big fan of Christmas. Too many
    ancient pagan overtones for me.
As a modern Scrooge, I say Bah Humbug to Christmas. One can (and should)
certainly extend goodwill at any time of the year. And anyone of any faith
or even no faith at all.

"Because," said Scrooge, "a little thing affects them. A slight
disorder of the stomach makes them cheats. You may be an undigested
bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of an
underdone potato. There's more of gravy than of grave about you,
    whatever you are!"

Best of the season to you and yours Wakko and in consideration of the
"Bah Humbug to Christmas" you might take a little extra care on what
you have for dinner on Sunday. <g>

First I wanna say Merry Christmas to Don Binns of Calgary.
I am like a kid about Christmas. I dont celebrate it as a religious
deal, atall. I celebrate it thru the little =kids eyes= in my family.
I celebrate giving my Darlin' something special. I shop till I drop, for
her, and she does for me as well.
I still believe in the ''concept'' of Santa Clause, always have, and
    always will.
I am one hail'u'va Christmas Fan. I love Christmas music. It's the Most
Wonderful time of the year. (Andy Williams,1966)

I know I am pretty ignorant and naive, redneck Texas style====but Don, I
dont get your point above, atall.
No big deal, I live on a Hill.

One of the many perks of being a Dad is you get to relive all of those
terrific childhood memories and indulge in all that kid stuff again.

It's even better being a Grand Dad and not having to worry about
diapers and all that other nasty stuff.

Dicken's book is filled with literary gems such as the paragraph I
quoted above. Read the book and I think you will get the point/joke I
    was making.

    Merry Christmas

Dont care to read it again, since I was a lad. But have seen many
versions of it in Movies. ''Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas''.

I got the joke. My Christmas Ghost wouldn't be caused by the dinner, but may
be caused by a few spiked egg nogs. That's a ghost that could be with ya the
next morning. I remember once not even knowing what day it was, so I threw
open the sash and called out the window "Boy! What day is it today?"
