What's the best Motorbike game out there (realistic and challenging),
and what console is it on (I saw console as I want something I can hook
up to my TV without taking up half the living room)

I saw TT Superbikes at the NEC and although I've never bothered with
consoles and such like , it's whetted my appetite. So a quick google
search tells me that there's also a MotoGP and also some new funky thing
called an Xbox 360 coming out. Should I go buy a PS2 and TT Superbikes
or..... wait for the new MotoGP that's coming out for the xbox 360 or is
there something better coming out in '06?

No, you just need bolt cutters or a biro.

I was going to say that you can't do that pissed with all your mates
after going to the pub but that wouldn't be strictly true.

MotoGP has more circuits and you can ride all of them straight away. TT
Superbikes only has the TT circuit (durrr) and the Southern 100, and I
think you need to qualify on the Southern 100 before unlocking the TT
    circuit.

MotoGP on the PS2 is very good, good enough that racers use it to learn
new international circuits and then complain when they learn the hard
way that the new Suzuka chicane isn't on their version of the game...

I'd buy the PS2 version of whichever games takes your fancy, as the
first wave of games for the Xbox360 is unlikely to make full use of the
hardware, and there's a better back catalogue of other games for the
    PS2.

There are at least 2 official current MotoGP games - one for PS2(MotoGP4)
    and one for XBox/PC(MotoGP3).

    I have MGP4 and it's a load better than the previous PS2 version (a
different MGP3), gameplay wise and also just 'cos the bikes all sound pretty
close to the real things this time around.

A mate has MGP3 on XBox and says its very good. He also has TT for the PS2
which he rates as good once you get the cheats for it 'cos otherwise you
have to work your way through the classes and loads of short tracks before
being allowed to run on the full circuit.

The XBox360 is due out on 2 December and it is backwards compatible with
current games so your MGP3 would work on the 360 and you'll probably have a
few new whizz-bang productions to play with in about6 months time with
better graphics etc etc etc. PS3 due out next year should be OK with PS2
    games.

If you can hang on a couple of weeks (and you can find one) then I'd
probably go the XBox360 route (but get the one with the wireless stuff and
    hard drive).

If you're feeling a bit pikey and want a bigger selection of games which
will, on the whole, be cheaper as it is being replaced soon then get the
    PS2.

    Whoa .... easy tiger ....
Different CPU innit, they've gone from an Intel PIII to an IBM Power PC CPU,
thus backwards compatibility is done via software emulation.

Patch's have to be downloaded from micro$oft, hence you'll need to have a
    hard drive with your XBOX360

Micro$oft recently announced the 212 original Xbox titles that would be
backwards compatible on the Xbox 360 at launch, you can view the entire list
    below.

Isn't it an awful lot of trouble to type a dollar sign instead of an
s? It seems like a lot of effort for what is, when all's said and
    done, a pose.

The problem is it just makes any comment you may have about the dangers
for the consumer with regards global corporations look as if it was
written in a metaphorical non-toxic green wax crayon.

C'mon, Ben - don't you know anything? People shell out for Harleys, yachts,
cosmetic surgery[1] for The Pose. The effort involved in typing a dollar
    sign is small beer.

[1]I myself have two motorcycles, a dinghy and several healed fractures.
