    Just had a job offer in the post.

    10% pay rise, too. Which is nice.

    Yes, I know.

    On the positive side - we're keeping the Sportwagon, selling Katie's
    aging 156 Saloon and I won't be doing too many miles in the Prius.

    It's also a massive company car tax saving, too, and they all come with
    a slushomatic.

    But ideally, it's not what I'd have chosen.

    Can't you just opt out, and offset the mileage against your tax code
    at the prescribed rates?

    No, if you do over 10k business miles / year, you have to take the car.

    Shame, really, as my 156 Sportwagon is very tidy and only has 18k miles
    on it.

    Still, Katie's had a lovely Christmas present.
