Well I got my new bike at the end of last month ( before the bank
holiday )... I phoned Bennetts on the Friday morning and told them of the
change.. No problem, I paid the extra there and then over the phone.
The nice lady said my documents would be there mid week as it was a bank
holiday.. no probs I though. Well come the following Friday I phoned them to
ask what was happening as I wanted to TAX the bike and get out on it.... She
said they were sent on the day I phoned so she would arrange a new set to be
sent... Well come Monday ( yesterday ) I phoned to ask where they were.. she
said give it till Wednesday at the latest and then they would send another
set, but they may have to charge me for it....?

Well here I am Tuesday and nothing....?

How long before I have to declare it sorn as it will be 2 weeks from
    purchase on Friday ?

    Thanks

obvious but did you check your address?

if it's correct, think who might be intercepting your mail.....

  3. ask them to send recorded or registered or special or something.
You could also have them fax you a copy, no use to anyone else, but
peace of mind for you maybe.
that's a good question, they're trying to be militant about it now, and
a pal of mine got stung just a couple of weeks after his expired. Might
have just been bad luck though.

If a used bike, did you/seller send the v5 away for registered keeper
    detail change?

Well I phoned them "Bennetts" again today and they promised me that my
documents were sent out 1st class at 7am yesterday.... I should have them by
    the morning...

So I phoned the DVLA and asked them what to do, after spending 10mins
listening to a voice message... the women said to me that I should declair
it as SORN on the 1st day of purchase ( 2nd hand from dealer ).. I explained
that the dealer said he thought the bike was sorn`ed... she said if I was
the new owner then I should declare it myself.. I said "ok can I do that
now" she said "no as I didn't have the log book in my hand as they hand sent
it today" so I went and got a form from the P/O filled it in, and even if it
was for just one day... it would show I did it....

Why was SORN put in place... can any one tell me...?

    Thanks
