Benly arse

  1. After having accepted 25 quid from the man who skittled The Doctor, and
sent him a letter agreeing "full and final settlement of the damage"[1],
I removed the bent crash bars this evening - and three cylinderfins are
    slightly damaged.

    Bollocks.

Oh well - all but invisible, and I know I can source a decent Benly head
    for a fiver or so.

Anyway, the bike is back on the road, so that's sorted, that is.

Just don't use RSS for the rest of the claim.

  3. I'm not. I'm using my own solicitor. Despite Carole nash *and* their
lawyers being told IO wasn't making a claim, Equity Red Star (the
insurer) still sent an engineer to view the Benly.

My premium is up for renewal this month, and if I have any loading I
shall make it very *very* plain that loading my premium for *not* making
a claim is an unwise thing to do.

    'Loading' is based upon 'incidents'
regardless of whether a claim is made or not.

And claims you make against a third party count as incidents against you
    until they are fiinally settled.

Oh yes and failure to declare an 'incident' renders your policy null and
    void
and you can lose all your NCD.

    Dave
who suffered at the hands of the SCU^H^H^H in sewer ants for two years
    while they sorted it out.

  5. Very, very wrong - at least as far as my own insurance is concerned.
Where theft is concerned, you may be right - where crashes are
concerned... you are ignorant, have a crap broker, or both.
