  1. I'll be up north this weekend and could bring it back. IIRC Alan aint
    too far from me.

For someone that doesn't have a car a SOC sounds brilliant.

Actually, it wasn't too complicated, it was too embarrassing. She
left het laptop in the carpark at Heathrow airport. But, she phoned
lost property today, and someone has handed it in.

Y'see, as I've always maintained, most people are basically good
But, as has happened before, I'm overwhelmed by the offers of help.
    Cheers everyone.

  7. Fastest PC I have at home is a 350MHz running 98 still. I was
    considering upgrading to ~800 - 1G

I bought a 233 [1] the day they were released to the Public, which,
    IIRC was in May '97.

[1] The 266 was released the same day. I can't believe the price I
paid for the whole setup with Gateway. Just a touch over 2 grand.

  10. So, as per your subject, does she need this computer to write a
begging letter? Can't she do it in biro, on lined A4 traceable to
Aldi? That would surely make any begging letter seem much more worthy
    ;o)

  11. Aldi are doing a phenomenal offer on a fully loaded PC at the moment.

    OOOOH!
    P200 processor
If you wanna get rid of it I could make use of it. At least it would help as
a backup machine for my shop till. I run a free dos based proggy that is
running on an old P1 90 atm, a 200 would make it fly.

You can have it, it was working when I started robbing that particular
machine of parts. Email me you address (this email works, just let me
    know).

    I have a P133 as well....
